They say absence makes the heart grow fonder
but you've been away for seven months
and my heart shrinks more and more every day.
They say actions speak louder than words
but there has never been anything
more powerful than when you said "I love you."
They say to always look on the bright side
but how can I when the sun hasn't come up
since you left?
They say no man is an island
but I've never felt more isolated
and alone.
They say out of sight, out of mind
but I'm still waiting
for you to leave my head.
They say what doesn't kill you
makes you stronger

but I've never felt so weak.
